On August 9, 2026, Mr. Rathanand Vichaidit, Acting Consul-General of Thailand in Los Angeles, presided over a merit-making ceremony and alms offering at Wat Suddhavasa in Riverside, California, on the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother of the Kingdom of Thailand and Thailand’s National Mother’s Day, observed annually on August 12. The Acting Consul-General was joined by the Heads of Team Thailand agencies in Los Angeles, officials and their spouses, and members of the Thai community. Approximately 70 participants attended the ceremony.
On this occasion, Wat Suddhavasa, together with members of the Thai community also hosted a Thai Mother’s Day celebration to honor and recognize the important role that mothers play in their children’s lives. The activity included the presentation of certificates to the students of Wat Suddhavasa in recognition of their accomplishments.
On the same day, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Los Angeles organized a volunteer activity on the occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s Birthday Anniversary and the National Mother’s Day in Thailand, observed on August 12, 2026. The Acting Consul-General of Thailand led the Royal Thai Consulate-General’s officials and staff in distributing lunch boxes and refreshments to members of the Thai community. The activity aims to dedicate the merit to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
