On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Los Angeles, in collaboration with the ASEAN Women Circle of Los Angeles (AWCLA) and the Consulates of fellow ASEAN member countries—Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and the Philippines and University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)—co-hosted a cultural event titled “Rhythms of ASEAN: Where Colors, Cultures and Hearts Align.” The event was held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at UCLA’s Northwest Campus Auditorium and drew approximately 350 attendees.
Mrs. Sirigamon Saralamba, President of AWCLA for 2026 presided over the said event and invited members of the Consular Corps, distinguished guests from ASEAN communities and representatives from the Thai media to enjoy vibrant lineup of performances from ASEAN countries, including the Four Ethnicities Dance from Indonesia; Sri Intan Payung from Malaysia; Mya Mann Giri Yoke Thé from Myanmar; and vocal performances from the Philippines featuring “Babalik Ka Rin” and “Piliin Mo Ang Pilipinas,” centered on themes of unity, homeland, and hope.
The program also showcased Khon (Thai masked dance), performed by artists from the Fine Arts Department of Thailand’s Ministry of Culture; the Musical Compositions of His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great was played by the Thai flautist and cellist; Rabam Mae Nguu, the Mother Snake Dance and Rabam Maa, performed by the dancers from the Thai community in Los Angeles, and Rabam Borankadi, the Series of Archeological Dances was performed by the performers and local musicians from the Thai community and students from the UCLA. The event was part of AWCLA’s 2026 charity fundraising efforts under Thailand’s presidency, and provided an opportunity for UCLA students and members of ASEAN communities to perform.
