Royal Thai Consulate-General, Los Angeles Organizes Thailand Business Forum in Portland

On February 21, 2024, the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Los Angeles, in cooperation with Mr. Nicholas Stanley, Honorary Consul General in Oregon, hosted the Thailand Business Forum: Relationship and Opportunity for Pacific Northwest Companies Considering Expansion to Asia in Portland, Oregon. The forum aimed to showcase Thailand's potential as a trade and investment partner for the United States. Consul-General Tor Saralamba, Directors from the Thai Trade and Investment Promotion Offices in Los Angeles as well as leading Thai companies actively participated in the forum and the business networking session.

Consul-General Delivers Opening Keynote Address

Consul-General Tor delivered an opening keynote address titled "Thailand Relationship and Opportunity", highlighting Thailand's economic achievement in 2023 and provided an economic forecast for this year. Consul-General also explained the Thai Government's economic priorities, including investment promotion in the focused sectors, Thailand’s vision on green economy,  potential of the Land Bridge project, and the future of Thailand’s digital economy. He also emphasized Thailand's advantages as a partner that can support the strength and continuity of the United States' supply chain.

Presentations by Thai Trade Center and Board of Investment

The Director of the Thai Trade Center and the Director of the Board of Investment, Los Angeles Office, described important policies and investment incentive schemes for the US private sector.

Presentations by US-based Thai Companies

Following the presentations by Thai government officials, Mr. Anat Julintron, CEO and Vice Chairman of the Board of CPF North America, Mr. Suchapong Boonsajai, General Manager of SCG International USA Inc., and Mr. Sith Chaisurote, President of Land and Houses USA, Inc., shared their experiences of doing business in Thailand and the United States. They also invited US companies to collaborate on mutually beneficial projects in the future.

Invitation to Thai Festival

The US participants were invited to attend the Thai Festival, which will be held on July 13-14, 2024, in the Central Eastside of Portland, Oregon.

The Royal Thai Consulate-General expressed its sincere appreciation to all the participating speakers.
